Turn a Pdf into a Jpg
The simplest version of this task: one page, one image, two minutes of work.
Open the PDF in an editor, choose Export and select JPG, enter the page number you want, then pick a resolution and save. Open the finished image and zoom in on a line of small text. If it reads cleanly, the resolution was right and the image is ready to use.
Steps
- Open the PDF and pick your page — note the page number before you begin. Converting one named page avoids the clutter that comes from exporting a whole document.
- Export that page as JPG — choose Export, select JPG, and type the page number into the range box. Leave the resolution at about 150 dpi when the image is only for screens.
- Save it somewhere you will find it — give the file a name that means something. A descriptive name is far easier to locate later than a default export name.
- Zoom in on the smallest text — if the smallest print is legible, the image is good. If it looks fuzzy, export again at 300 dpi rather than trying to sharpen the existing file.

A few seconds on a modern machine. The export itself is quick; most of the time goes on choosing settings and finding the file afterwards, so name it clearly on the way out.
Do I need to install anything?
Not always. Some operating systems and office suites can already export a page as an image. If yours cannot, a free desktop PDF editor adds the feature without any upload or subscription.
Why does the image look different from the PDF?
Usually a resolution or colour setting. At screen resolution thin lines can appear broken, and colour profiles may shift slightly. Exporting at a higher resolution clears up most of these differences.
