1 Open the PDF and Access the Watermark Tool

Why Desktop Editors Handle Watermarks Better
Desktop PDF editors provide a dedicated Watermark tool that adds text or image watermarks with full control over opacity, rotation, position, scale, and page range. Watermarks added by the tool can be removed by the tool — the editor tracks which objects are watermarks and can delete them selectively without affecting other content.

How do I remove a watermark that was flattened into the PDF?
Flattened watermarks are part of the content stream and cannot be removed with a simple 'remove watermark' command. In a desktop editor's Edit mode, click on the watermark text or image — it will be selectable as an object. Press Delete to remove it. Repeat for each page. If the watermark overlaps with content, you may need to use the erase tool to clean up residual artifacts after deletion.
Can I add a different watermark on different pages?
Yes. Desktop editors support per-page or per-range watermark settings. For example, you can add 'CONFIDENTIAL' on odd pages and 'DRAFT' on even pages, or add a watermark only to pages 1-10 and not to pages 11-20. Configure this in the watermark dialog's page range settings.
